An Open Letter
Hey, Honey!!
I'm Jada, a native and resident of Atlanta, Georgia. I am a veteran wife and Mama of two energetic boys. I absolutely love the career I am in and wish I could have found this love sooner. After the birth of my first son, my postpartum care was filled with care, support and love from family who understood the transition of what a new mother goes through emotionally, mentally and physically. I was well fed and surrounded by wise women guiding me through this rites of passage. I attended APS school systems and studied at Xavier University of Louisisana. I initially began my career as a virtual assistant with mompreneurs as clients and it took off from there. I take motherhood as a huge honor to raise a family and understand the value that I have as a nurturer and I never take for granted the responsibility ahead of me and to my community.
I started with a love I call Hey, HONEY!! and I’ve been doing this breast friend work since 2016. My mission is inspired by the lack of support provided during my own breastfeeding journey and aims to drastically increase the generational health of Black and Brown communities through education and support surrounding birth and how it affects breastfeeding and the postpartum experience. My community work has awarded me national recognition as the 2020 Cultural Changemaker Award with the United States Breastfeeding Committee. I am currently a ROSE Community Transformer, former Secretary of The Georgia Breastfeeding Coalition and the founder of The Future of Lactation, a movement dedicated to increasing the presence of Black and Brown lactation professionals and IBCLCs in your community.

I hold certifications as a Certified Maternal Health Consultant, Certified Maternal Child Community Health Worker, Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, trained Infant Massage Educator, PSI Perinatal Moods Disorder Advocate, Pregnancy & Infant Loss (PAIL) Advocate, trained NBDA Birth Doula and trained in Spinning Babies, Lamaze Childbirth Educator (certification pending Fall '24) self taught Postpartum Doula. As a full spectrum Doula, I have attended Spinning Babies workshops and advanced doula skills training to efficiently learn the physiological process of labor and birth, where breastfeeding initiation begins immediately. I am a TOTs specialty trained practitioner utilizing the E3 model of care for oral assessments. I have clinical experience of 1000+hours including experience with a local tongue tie center and supporting hundreds of babies with oral dysfunctions.
Whew, I've been preparing to serve you, honey.
With this specialized training I provide my families with perinatal health literacy, emotional and physical support for continuity of care which creates relationships between providers, families and the communities they serve.
My MIND, BODY, BABEE model of care is a crafted individualized holistic approach to support the mental and perinatal health of honeys and their babees. The Milk + Honey expertise encourages caregivers to trust their instincts during pregnancy and utilizing integrative care for optimal postpartum health. I help families of all backgrounds but prioritize families of color to have an informed pregnancy and birth, crush their breast or chest feeding goals and transition into a thriving postpartum experience. As a Maternal Child Health Coach, I think you deserve that too, honey.
